    Chernobyl

    A silent, deadly wave
    Swallows the Ukraine
    One invader, Kiev’s great gates
    Cannot subdue

    A silent explosion
    Heard around the world
Written on the faces of newspapers
    From America to Australia
    The world listened
    But could not help

    Ten years on
    A nuclear wasteland
    Flooded by radiation
    Condemned to isolation
    A quarantine, 200 miles wide

    The Killing

    It was silent
    Nobody moved
She lay there in the middle of the road,
    Dead.

    People were screaming,
    Running around like headless chickens.
The road was now more red than white.
    Everyone was shivering,
Even though the sun was out.

As the car zoomed off into the distance,
Round the bend in a cloud of tyre smoke,
    Everyone stood in sorrow
And the empty shotgun cartridges lay on the floor

    Yellow
    Flashing downwards
    Crashing clouds darkening
The storm was brewing in the skies
    Pouring

The purring grey kitten asleep on the comfy armchair quietening as the sound dies.
The kitten was as furry as a baby polar bear.
The noise as relaxing as a massage
The kitten’s tail twitches as it dreams into a deep sleep not noticing the weather outside.

    Rain
    Rain starts to fall
birds take shelter in the trees
as the puddles start to form the little kids
    start to play.

    Drip-drip
    Drip-drip

    Hail starts to fall
    The little children run inside
The stones get bigger and bigger

    Smash-smash
    Smash-smash

    The hail turns to snow
Turning the land to white wonderland

    The Fire

    Sirens howling,
    The rig in orange,
Burning oil combusting out of the top.

Ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks,
    People panicking,
    Running away from the fire.

    The fireman,
    Wrestles with his hose,
As the orange flames stain the darkness of light.

    Ambulances helping poor people,
    Hurt by the blaze,
    The battle forges on.

As the blue water hits the angry fire,
    The fire strikes back,
    With a spit of Flame.

    The fire rises,
    As thunder fills the air,
And the lightning lights up the dark blue sky.

    The ground gets wetter,
    The fire gets bigger,
    The noise level rises drastically.

A scream leaves a body on the floor,
It fills the air with a chill,
That this might not be the only one who dies tonight

    The snow

    Snow is falling,
The hens find comfort under the trees,
As the snow falls children come out to play,
And snow men began to emerge,
    Snow is falling,

    The pond begins to freeze,
The windows cover up with frost,
Sledges thunder down the white covered road,
    Snow is falling,

The carol bells are singing there joyful praise,
    And singing is all around,
    Happiness has filled the air,
    Snow is falling,

The snow has stopped falling the snowmen droop away,
    The sledges go away,
    The carol bells stop singing,
    Snow is gone
