Remembrance Day Assembly
This morning Mr Seymour led a very powerful assembly during which he told us about his Great Grandfather’s experiences of fighting in the trenches during the First World War. He described how the soldiers reacted when peace was declared on the 11th November. The men from both sides slowly emerged from their trenches and no-one knew who had won. Mr Seymour asked us to consider what it must have felt like to have fought desperately for months and then to not even know who was victorious.
